These are the elements I strive to create in my paintings. My paintings in many ways record what is most important to me: my feelings and experiences with family and friends along with the spiritual aspects of my life. “When I was very young I would imagine that someone would hang one of my paintings on their wall and a person from across a crowded room would say—“That’s a McNaughton!” Today, as my work crosses over many boundaries, from religious, to landscape, and beyond, I strive to create art that will affect people and create the kind of feelings that help them recognize it as a McNaughton.
Take the time to enjoy viewing the different images. I have written my thoughts about each piece but remember; sometimes art is the expression of feelings too subtle for words.” |

Liz Lemon Swindle began her painting career in first grade. Her first exhibitions were on the refrigerator, encouraged by her father. In the early 1980s she tutored under renowned wildlife artist, Nancy Glazier. In 1992, Liz began painting a subject matter she had long desired to approach: her faith. Her paintings are now held in corporate and private collections around the world and have been published in countless magazines and books. Liz and her husband Jon have five children and thirteen grandchildren.
